The Park-museum of the combat friendship 1444 “Vladislav Varnenchik” is located at western part of Varna at theplace of the battlefield of 10.11.1444 and where the Polish-Hungarian king Vladislav III Yagello lost his life for the liberation of the Balkans and Southeastern Europe .

The park with an area of nearly 30 decares is afforested with unique vegetation and predisposes for a wonderful short break.

Here is the oldest in Bulgaria monument of King Wladislaw and his knights, built in 1935. Near by is situated King Vladislav’s mausoleum, the monument of Janosh Huniady and the museum building with permanent exposition. The museum is open to visitors in 1964 in honor of 520 years since the battle of Varna between the Christian troops of the Polish-Hungarian king Wladislav III Yagello and the Ottoman troops, under command of sultan Murad II.In the exposition every visitor has the opportunity to see weapons and equipment from XV century (helmets, crossbows, swords, etc..) found on the battlefield, paintings and sculptures dedicated to the battle of Varna. Here is the knightly armor, the only one in Bulgaria from this century. The special hall is dedicated to the commander Janosh Hunyadi. In 2004 the museum was completely modernized.

The museum disposes of hall for temporary exhibitions. Now we present the exhibition “Poland at the epoch of The Jagiellonian”, made in the Museum of the Polish Army at Warsaw.

On the territory of the park are safeguarded two Thracian mounds from the fourth century BC.,in the one of which is the tomb of a Thracian ruler.

Price of the guided lecture - 10.00 BGN.

We offer free use of individual itineraries with translation of the inscriptions in the entire exposition into Russian, Polish, Hungarian and German. Lectures are led by qualified guides in Bulgarian, English, Russian and Polish.

There is an audiolecture in Hungarian available.

ACCESS

At the main entrance of the park,in the mausoleum and in the museum building there are provided approaches for disabled people amd lift platforms for wheelchair visitors.
