The flag of Sixth contingent of the Bulgarian army is in the National Museum of Military History

On August 24th the National Museum of Military History was given the flag of Sixth contingent of the Bulgarian army which participated in the structure of the Multinational coalition forces in Iraq. The outfit received the flag together with the certificate for participation in a mission on June 12th 2008. Its first standard- bearer became lieutenant Yovcho Yovchev. The flag was accompanied to the museum personally by the commander of the company captain Georgi Goranov. Handing it in, he said that the museum is the place where it will be best preserved for the coming generations.

The flag will occupy its well-deserved place next to the flags of the other Bulgarian outfits which have participated in missions abroad. Although from another time and with other statute, without being “battle”, these flags are part of the memory of this day of the Bulgarian army preserved by the big flag’s collection of the National Museum of Military History.
