"Dress to the captains" – exhibition dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the Unification of Bulgaria
On September 6th in the hall “Saedinenie” in Plovdiv was opened the exhibition “Dress to the captains”. This common manifestation of the National Museum of Military History and the Regional historical museum- Plovdiv dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the Unification of Principality of Bulgaria and Eastern Roumelia was officially opened by the deputy-minister of defense Avgustina Tzvetkova. Among the guests were the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Georgi Parvanov, the chairwoman of the National assembly Tzetzka Tzacheva, deputies from all the parliamentary presented parties, the regional director Ivan Totev, the mayor of Plovdiv Slavcho Atanasov, public figures, citizens.
In the exhibition are presented a sword and a frock-coat of Prince Alexander I (1879-1886); the sword of the first Bulgarian- war minister captain Konstantin Nikiforov; weapons, uniforms, insignia and photographs of the majors Danayl Nikiloev and Raycho Nikolov, the captains Radko Dimitriev, Nikola Ivanov, Mikhail Savov, Valko Velchev and many others.
The exhibition will be open until the end of October.
